Overview

SOSi is seeking a Chinese Linguist in Reston, VA. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the full range of activities in processing material or participating in situations requiring advanced capability to perform translation, transcription and interpretation tasks in support of the customer.


Essential Job Duties

  • Duties may include independently monitoring and researching various media to identify relevant Chinese language web content, performing translations of various types of documents, transcribing information into summaries, interpreting from Chinese into English, and responding to other assigned tasks.

Minimum Requirements

  • Ability to obtain TS/SCI security clearance.
  • Bachelors Degree. 
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in language support.
  • Candidates must possess native or near native competency in the target language. Competency will be established via standardized language exams which must be completed as part of the application process.
  • Candidate must be familiar with the culture, media, and language of their target area.
  • Candidates must possess excellent English written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience in using SharePoint and Microsoft Office, ability to learn additional programs and applications as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Active in scope TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph.
  • Masters degree in a related field or MBA.
  • Experience in a cyber, scientific, research, or technical field.

Work Environment

  • Travel OCONUS on a TDY basis is a requirement for some of the languages under this program. 
  • Candidates must be able to support the program 24/7 when on travel.
