SOSi is seeking a Deputy Project Manager to provide oversight and ensure successful delivery of services to meet the overall requirements supporting a U.S. Government customer in Iraq. The Deputy Program Manager shall act in the same capacity as the Program Manager (PM) during the Program Manager’s absence.  This position requires extensive interaction with technical and administrative personnel from the Government and other teamed companies.


Essential Job Duties

  • During absence of the PM, serve as program representative to USG counterparts, SOSi management teams and other stakeholders.
  • Work with the PM to develop, analyze, and strategize program goals, implement company policy, and procedures to ensure cost effective solutions are presented to the customer while maintaining the efficiency to the program.
  • Manage subcontractor(s) and ensure quality and timely delivery of their services
  • Support the PM understanding program budgets and costs, program funding and program financial reporting.
  • Respond to operational inquiries from the field and liaise with the PM and others for program decision making.
  • Work independently and exercise reasonable discernment with little supervision while providing clear documentation of activities and accomplishments.
  • Maintain a safe workplace and ensure safety is the highest priority in the workplace.
  • Comply with all Environmental & Safety and Quality Assurance requirements and goals.
  • Allocate and manage staff resources according to changing needs.
  • Control resources; monitor staff proficiency and qualifications; monitor the locations and activities of assets; and coordinate the flow of information to and from contract staff and USG representatives.
  • Manage, monitor, and track contract services.
  • Identify problem areas and respond to mission requirements to perform requirements.
  • Perform additional duties and projects as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

  • Active in Scope Secret security clearance.
  • Associate degree in a related field or discipline.
  • Ten (10) years Logistics support services and/or Operations and Maintenance support services management experience with a minimum of three (3) years’ experience in providing such services to large operations.
  • Valid driver’s license from home of record.
  • Must maintain physical and dental requirements for duration of deployment.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills to direct employees, prepare reports for upper management and facilitate/disseminate information.
  • Satisfactory English proficiency to meet job requirements
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of all activities for a comparable operation.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage staff.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment that requires handling multiple tasks at a given time and rapidly adapting to changing priorities and schedules.
  • Ability to fully execute the Project Manager duties and responsibilities.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, problem solving and time management skills.
  • Expert computer skills, specifically Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Ability to become an active and functioning member of a team.
  • Ability to be innovative and be an agent for change.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills to direct employees, prepare reports for upper management and facilitate/disseminate information.
  • Knowledge of the FAR.
  • Satisfactory English proficiency to meet job requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Relevant overseas facilities management experience.
  • Previous international experience and previous work experience in harsh environmental conditions.
  • Experience working as a U.S. government contractor.
  • Cross-cultural sensitivity with an international perspective.
  • Working knowledge of CostPoint, and DELTEK.
  • Experience working with USG/Department of State and Contracting Officer Representatives (CORs).

Work Environment

  • Living and working conditions at the assignment location could be remote and uncomfortable.
  • Long hours, exposure to weather and hazardous conditions.
  • Personnel should be aware of moving on short notice and under adverse conditions.
