Chef
SOSi is seeking a Chef for our current contract located on Camp Taji, Iraq.
Essential Job Duties
- Overall responsibility for daily operations in the kitchen.
- Maintaining or raising the profit margins on food.
- Managing , training and leading the brigade of cooks.
- Having excellent cooking skills.
- An understanding of produce and ingredients.
- The ability to write menus that are both creative and profitable.
- Holds health and safety and food hygiene awareness.
- Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standard.
- Ensure that the staff maintain good hygiene and safety standards.
- Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Minimum Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum one (1) year of experience in full service or institutional food service environment.
- Excellent English communication skills and ability to interact effectively with customers and other personnel.
- Knowledge of food service and sanitation standards.
- Excellent knife skills for food preparation.
- Ability to consistently arrive punctually and contribute to positive dining atmosphere.
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally.
Work Environment
- Willingness to live and work under environmental and other conditions that may be uncomfortable at times.
- Personnel should be aware of moving on short notice and under adverse conditions.
- Requires periods of non-traditional hours including consecutive nights or weekends when necessary.
- May require ability to lift/and or move objects or packages of up to 25 lbs.
