DoD SkillBridge Recruiter
SOSi is seeking a SkillBridge Recruiter to join our recruiting team in Reston, VA. The SkillBridge Recruiter will work with a team of professionals in Talent Acquisition to learn and experience full lifecycle recruiting in a fast-paced, DoD and government contracting cleared environment. The ideal candidate must have a solid ability to multi-task, be organized, have a sense of urgency, and be forward-thinking. The selected candidate will gain experience sourcing passive and active candidates in the cleared arena. While this position will generally be hybrid, there will be an in-office element especially during the first few weeks of the internship.
Essential Job Duties
- Accurately evaluate candidates based on core competencies and cultural fit.
- Build effective networks and relationships to maintain a strong pipeline of talent.
- Manage the flow of employee referrals and candidates.
- Collaborate with hiring managers to determine position specifications, pre-screening questions, interview questions, and solve staffing challenges.
- Creatively source candidates through job boards, databases, cold calling, job fairs, networking, referrals, and other creative candidate sourcing strategies.
- Pre-screen resumes, conducts initial interviews and evaluate candidates’ suitability for presentation to hiring managers.
- Builds effective candidate networks and strong cross-functional relationships with Hiring Managers to support the needs of the business.
- Supports proposal preparation by recruiting key personnel, formatting resumes, and obtaining letters of commitment from contingent hires.
- Conducts reference checks.
- Maintains recruiting documentation required for OFCCP compliance.
- Contributes to special projects as required.
- Performs other duties assigned by supervisor.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree; additional years of relevant experience may be substituted in lieu of education.
- You may be eligible to participate in SkillBridge if you:
- Have 180 days of service or fewer remaining prior to your date of discharge and you have at least 180 continuous days of active service.
- Obtain approval from your unit commander.
- Agree that participation in SkillBridge can be terminated at any time by the service if mission requirements dictate.
- In-scope DoD Secret clearance or the ability to obtain a Secret clearance.
- Experience in Intel, IT, Logistics AND/OR Medical recruiting and other military roles.
- Understanding of government contract proposal activities.
- Experience in the government contracting industry.
- Knowledge of employment laws and hiring practices.
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
- Ability to multi-task and to organize and prioritize multiple on-going projects in a fast-paced, deadline-sensitive environment.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to speak with large groups of prospective candidates.
- Strong understanding of Microsoft Office Suite applications and hands-on familiarity with various recruiting sources and tools.
Preferred Qualifications
- Understanding of DoD culture and organizational structure.
- Understanding of the security clearance process and how job seekers process through medical and mental requirements for positions overseas in austere environments.
- Familiarization with military transition assistance programs and military base hiring events.
- Previous experience as a military recruiter is helpful.
- Ability to travel for hiring events and/or other recruiting events such as Incumbent Capture.
