Overview

SOSi is currently seeking an experienced Junior Systems Engineer to join our team in Joint Base Pearl Harbor Hickam, Honolulu, Hawaii. The customer based out of Honolulu, Hawaii creates, manages, and supports IT solutions for our customer, its mission and its 5,000+ customers throughout the Pacific theater. Our team solves challenging technical problems that enable our customer to realize critical and time sensitive C2 strategies


Essential Job Duties

As a Junior Network Engineer at SOS International LLC, you will be a key component to a team responsible for engineering Command and Control IT solutions in support of our customer, related component commands, and relevant operational objectives. You will assist and lead in the development of systems to ensure that our enterprise infrastructure and private cloud platform, is healthy and manageable.

The selected candidate for this position should be versed in Department of Defense (DoD) protocols, procedures, and regulations, to include Government Zero Trust Architecture (ZTA) mandates. The candidate should have foundational knowledge of Data Centric Security Principals, technologies and their implementations. The position is expected to regularly interact with senior DoD personnel, communicate effectively both orally and in writing, and to prepare and deliver executive-level briefings/IPRs to interested parties as required.

  • Assess, design, and roadmap development for the implementation or integration of ZTA solutions.
  • Assess, design, and roadmap development for the implementation or integration of Data Centric Security solutions.
  • Contribute, provide technical recommendations, and attend briefings or information sharing forums, with INDOPACOM and the leadership, in support of ZTA initiatives and new capabilities.
  • Interact with vendors, other agencies, and Coalition Partners on behalf of the program.
  • Lead complex technical projects including upgrades, system integrations, and other installations in support of existing Enterprise capabilities.
  • Provide mentorship for Systems Operations personnel in administration principles and best practices.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex problems.
  • Maintain current knowledge of relevant hardware and software applications as assigned.
  • Reviews work efforts/implementations and contributes to analysis, After-Action-Reports (AAR). Regularly collects and summarizes pertinent network-related accomplishments, issues, and concerns. Completes activity reports in accordance with contract requirements.
  • Ensures compliance of custody and ownership of Government equipment and related components.
  • Participates in related solution technologies and special projects, as required.

Minimum Requirements

  • An Active in-scope TOP SECRET clearance with SCI Eligibility and US Passport.
  • DoD 8570 IAT-II compliant (Security+ CE, CCNA-Security, CND, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, or SSCP).
  • Server Administration (Microsoft or Linux+) certification at hire, to obtain Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Hybrid Administrator or Red Hat Certified Systems Administrator (RHCSA) within 6 months.
  • Bachelors degree in IT, Information Systems, Cyber Security, Computer Engineering or similar, and 2 years of experience in enterprise IT network engineering and operations involving complex classified DoD environments and mandatory security controls (e.g., STIGs).
  • 2+ years implementation and support in server administration. Extensive experience with Microsoft or Linux enterprise services portfolio (Exchange, Active Directory, DNS/BIND, DHCP, SQL, etc). Prior experience in implementing and supporting DoD secure systems environments.
  • Experience with Hyperconverged Infrastructure (Nutanix preferred)
  • Experience with NSA CSfC requirements including Multi-Site Connectivity Capability Package (MSCCP) and Mobile Access Capability Package (MACP).
  • Experience with Cross Domain Solutions (CDS) and/or DISA Trusted Network Environment (TNE)
  • Customer-service oriented with a willingness to participate and assist.
  • Able to follow instructions and work both independently and in a (distributed) team environment.
  • Team-player. Able to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing.
  • Attention to detail. Excellent planning and time-management skills.
  • Able to support 24/7 operations (including support to exercises), when necessary.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Hybrid Administrator or Red Hat Certified Systems Administrator (RHCSA) certification.
  • Additional IT certifications in relevant technology platform (e.g., Network+, Citrix, Dell, HPE/Aruba, ITIL, Juniper, Microsoft, Nutanix, Palo Alto, VMware).
  • Experience with Forcepoint/Everfox Trusted Thin Clinent.
  • Familiarity with Zero Trust Architecture (ZTA).
  • Familiarity with VDI/Virtual Environments and solutions (VMware Horizon, Citrix VDI)
  • Familiarity with Hyperconverged Infrastructure (HCI), Multi-factor Authentication (MFA) and C2 applications.
  • Experience in ITIL framework and best practices (e.g., Change Management, Configuration Management, Capacity Planning)
  • Experience using Help Desk software (e.g., Jira, Remedy, ServiceNow).
