Master Electrician Supervisor

SOS International LLC (SOSi) is seeking an experienced Master Electrician Supervisor to support an O&M contract in Doha, Qatar. The Supervisor Master Electrician is responsible for supervising the electrical shop and overseeing, assisting, and providing technical training and evaluating all electrical work as assigned, including project estimates, contractor coordination, project management, and tracking work orders.
Essential Job Duties
- Responsible for maintaining a safe workplace and ensuring safety is the highest priority in the workplace.
- Directly responsible for supervising the day to day electrical maintenance tasks in support of site operations.
- Responsible for all electrical projects, to include maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, installation and related O&M electrical projects for a U.S. Government operated site in Qatar.
- Comply with all Environmental & Safety and Quality Assurance requirements and goals.
- Provide information and materials necessary to ensure adequate and legal documentation.
- Perform work required for the repair, maintenance, installation and modernization of electrical systems for building equipment.
- Perform work on systems using electrical standards of low voltage electrical systems to include National Electrical Code (NEC) and National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) electrical codes (NFPA 70B, 70E, and 78) for 60Hz and the International Electrical Code (IEC) (British standard) for 50Hz.
- Coordinate work with stakeholders and keep the client informed of any repairs or changes.
- Reads, interprets, and annotates facility drawings, blueprints and schematics and able to layout wiring systems and installations.
- Provides guidance and assistance to staff in accomplishing installation/maintenance assignments and assigns specific tasks to qualified personnel to assure timely completion of all tasks. Supervises and executes:
- Training of assigned electricians.
- Locate and determine electrical malfunctions using testing equipment.
- Repair malfunctions by such methods as replacing burned out elements, fuses and replacing defective wiring, cleaning, repairing, or replacing motors.
- Test electrical equipment such as motors, heaters and controls for safety and efficiency, using standard testing equipment and by observing functions.
- Install fixtures, wiring conduits, motors and other electrical equipment.
- Inspect circuits for specified shielding and grounding.
- Report any malfunctions or lack of compliance with the SOW to the Operations Manager.
- Perform inspections and prepare written reports.
- Take initiative to analyze a situation and make frequent technical decisions based on specifications, safety and electrical codes.
Minimum Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Seven (7) years electrical experience in operations and maintenance services.
- Three (3) years’ experience in an international environment.
- Three (3) years’ experience as a Master Electrician in large complex facilities.
- Two (2) years supervisory experience.
- Licenses and Certificates:
- Active and current Master Electrician License from any U.S. state.
- Valid driver’s license from home of record.
- English proficiency to meet job requirements.
- Experience working with SOW, electrical diagrams and blueprints.
- Knowledge of applicable U.S. codes and acceptable trade practices.
- Previous electrical experience in an international environment with a multi-national workforce.
- Knowledge and experience regarding occupational hazards of the electrical trade, related safety precautions and considerable skill required for the installation, maintenance and repair of electrical systems and equipment.
- Must have good organizational and communication skills with the ability to exercise sound judgment and make independent decisions.
- Knowledge of principles and processes involved in supporting contract responsibilities at an overseas facility.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment that requires handling multiple tasks at a given time and rapidly adapting to changing priorities and schedules.
- Possesses good communication, management, decision-making, training and complex problem-solving skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Must be well versed in computer skills (Word, Excel, etc.)
Preferred Qualifications
- Completion of a four or five-year Electrical Apprenticeship Program, preferred.
- Department of State experience, successful international assignments and or successful contingency operations assignments.
- Certified for both NEC and IEC electrical systems.
Work Environment
- Physical requirements include lifting, climbing, extended sitting or standing, or other physical efforts that are normally required. Working conditions include a combination of an office environment and outdoor activities. Outside working conditions include potential exposure to extreme high temperatures, dry and dusty conditions.
- Required PPE includes but is not limited to head, foot, hand, torso, respiratory, vision and Lifts and carries all types of working materials and equipment of the trade depending on the assignment hearing protective devices.
- May handle materials and equipment that weighs up to 45 pounds.
